Do I need to have a green screen in order to change the background ? Or can I use a solid color screen?
Hey @sandy.mills You can color key with any color. You’d need to make sure that it doesn’t match anyone’s skin tone or clothes or they might disappear. @andy.fekete shared this useful PD resource. Check it out https://creators.influitive.com/forum/t/about-the-tips-tricks-forum/32/10?u=jeremie.gluckman
You can use anything but green and blue work the best. You also want to avoid something that doesn’t match the clothing that is worn by the people in the video. That is why we naturally use / have a lot of blue in our clothes.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you everyone so much for your help. I had teacher share a video with me and it was a light green background. I wasn’t able to change the background but I think it was too pastel of a green color. Thank you everyone.
I like green screens that are affordable from https://www.loadstonestudio.com/collections/green-screen-backgrounds
With the likelihood of being teaching from home for the foreseeable future I’m seriously considering setting up a permanent GS by paint a wall.
I found cheap (under 0.50 USD per meter) bright green cloth that I use as a green screen. It’s similar to the stuff used for scrubs and is very flimsy (for sewing) but adequate for using as a backdrop. No need to have a garish green wall at home!
Of course if I hadn’t left the cloth at school and had it here at home…
I purchased an inexpensive green screen setup from Amazon a few years ago. Any color works, but even shades of that color in clothing will color key it out. An annoyance for the teacher, but my students love it. LOL. They would purposefully wear green at times to look like a floating head.
Lighting, as I’m sure you all know, is key to Chroma Key. I found THIS YouTube Video. Hope it helps!
My greenscreen (table cloth) has arrived and I’m having loads of fun but I’ve also made some green screen templates of my own, meaning I can now afford my own Jamboard as well as a side hustle on breakfast TV.
This is very cool @daren.white
